The BUS is a government grant that helps homeowners in England and Wales switch from fossil fuel heating to low-carbon alternatives like heat pumps. It offers up to £7,500 off the cost of installation.
Most homeowners and small businesses are eligible, as long as your property has a valid EPC with no outstanding insulation recommendations. New builds (unless self-builds) aren’t usually eligible.
The BUS covers air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps, and biomass boilers (in limited rural areas). I install MCS-certified air and ground source heat pumps that qualify for the scheme.
